Our task was breaking an object into shapes, coloring the shapes and putting them back together, not in the original form.
I have to admit that the task seem weird for me since I never really got the idea, or better to say never enjoyed such sculptures. Having no great vision about the outcome of it, I started following the instructions, choosing a home rolling pin as the object to begin with.
I broke it into 12 parts, and colored them all in the same color.
The last step, of putting it all together was the hardest, trying to find a construction that would please me.
At last I found what I was looking for, and it seem a bit like a model of Constructivism architecture. A monument made up of triangles and circles.
I still don’t fell close to this kind of sculpturing, but it sure was nice to try a new technique.
