okay , so far :
I will put up some photos about what i made throughout the lessons, just i can not find any photos...

fake clay : when we had to make each -others heads from clay it was really hard, not only because i haven't worked with clay for a long time, but also because to make the facial expressions for a starter who holds clay for the first time in his/her hands , its just an incredible hard work to make a face. However with ralph's help -that he put on a hat- my work was easy coz nobody had problems with recognizing him.

plaster sculptures: I dont like plaster. i can also say that i hate it, and it gives me a really bad feeling to touch it, somehow i get goosepimples . after all i did a hard work with makeing the sculpture, and i got really low grades, whatever i dont care, i just dont think that its so fair.

wire sculptures: my idea was to make a wire lingerie , and i think that i completed it very well. i also decided to make that because i wanted to make a performace out of it and the reason for that was that i knew that nobody will choose to make a performance ....

installation project

Installation project
For this task my partner was Susana, and our subject was Memory.
Before looking at our tools/materials we decided to make a brine storm about the word memory and the associations it bring to us. It brought a lot of ideas, which the majority of them had something to do with nostalgic feelings and moments, nostalgic memories of the past.
We decided to make installations dedicated to the 70th and make the observer part of the art. The memory and nostalgic become present.
The material we chosen from the list was "Old Monitors" , and the other materials that play an important role in the insulation are: 70th style furniture, old cars, sound devices, food, and colored tiles.
The 3 installations are as the following:
1. In a gallery – a room designed as a 70th living room, with the old monitor TV showing black and white movie, and a food small followed by a mother sound of "come, come, the food is getting cold" .
2. In Budapest – a part of a modern street would be transform back to the way it looked 30 years ago, with a nice wood bench and the proper tiles.
3. In the world – drive in spots, with the essence of the past, some old cars, black & white movies and so on…

Marcell and hands: studio

Cheramics Studio

This was one of the highlights (after the plaster) during our time. We went to this studio to learn more about different types of clay and material. We would also get the chance to make some objects to try the different techniques.

I made a very simple box"ish" form with feet following the same fashion and even a block inside under the lid to serve as a stopper. I was quite pleased and it was all very pleasant but I wish we would have more time or do more of this plaster or sculpture training in class.

Stone Box
(crappy Paint concept art, but you get the idea...)

Marcell and hands: installation

3 pieces of paper

partner: Èvi

This was an installation assignment and it was very fun. It reminded me a bit of surrealism and how you incorperate and structure your work to create a message. I didn´t know to what extent this was going to be made but we had to draw up a image of this composition after recieving 3 pieces of paper with words written on them that we would later use in our images.

Èvi and me got of to a good start combinding all of the elements in 3 different pictures, all conserning the enviorment and our effect on nature.

I started drawing on one idea we had but I took such time I had to finish it at home while Évi took care of the other 2 after having discussed all of the ideas.

Marcell and hands: land art

Human rabbit hole
We took a tram to a forsety spot a few minutes out of the city where we would create land art. It started out pretty warm but soon we became showered in heavy rain. Oddly enough that did not stop us and nobody really complained. Might be a bit grumpy over wet clothes but it's not everyday you experiance something so so,... close to nature?
I started out my taking in the enviorment looking at angles and shapes thinking of what I could do. I often dedicate myself to small creations thinking they are a bit safer and easier to work with but this time impressed by the massive scene I chose to create a gigantic "passage" made from twigs and branches. Early in to the process I got company from Natela who agreed with my idea and we both started closing up gaps and free space of the path with all sorts of wood. After one shower, 3000 twigs and alot of ant work we managed to create a sertain interessting dividation between one side of the passage and the other.

My original thought was simple; pure curiosity, the thought of that nature shapes itself and there are many unknown areas and things to discover inspired me to build this extra "door" to something you cannot see unless you take a step inside.

Marcell and hands: abstract cardboard

Abstract cardboard
This assignment was pretty fast and I didn't give it much thought. I did understand it but the thought of abstract is a bit repulsive to me and I have no interesst in it. But an assignment is an assignment so I grabbed a glue gun and thought it was small and bendy enough to make something abstract out of it.
We were to create a cardboard structure in a 6 piece arangement (colored) to create a abstract representation of that object. I did mine and it came out pretty solid in gold and black, quite small but allright.

Cardboard Sculpture

This is a famous Marcells classes!
The task was to do six side of an object, but my sculpture is a big mass…

So I have no idea how many sides it has...

Wire sculpture- "The thinging person"

One of the wire sculptures influenced me from the presentation class. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the name of artist and sculpture. It was profile made of few lines of grey\silver wire.
I made my profile figure with the brain inside. When I did the profile line, I started from base, then neck and I didn’t stop following the wire until I got to the end of the other side of the neck. So there is no cut. After I made a brain and fixed to the head with a gold wire. The name of sculpture is: “The thinking person”. It is not really stable, it is moving when you just touch it gently.

Plaster sculpture

This is an abstraction human figure. Many people asked me: which part of the body it is? I always answered: what do you see? Then I had many different solutions, like: a man with a hat from the top, lying figure...

partner work

i was working together with bob the last time. the projects were intersting, but i found some words from the envelope a bit strange...i think that we developed a good idea and iluustrated it in an understandable way.
maybe it would have been enough to just work on one project in one class, to be able to work it out a bit more and to make the sketches better. but it was very good work with a partner!

forest art

the excursion to the forset was a bit unorganised. if we would have known before about going out on a rainy day we would have dressed up...and maybe it would have also been better to thibk about a project before goining to the place itself.
but all in all i found it interesting and compleatly different.
and this is what i didi with anna. i quite like the idea with the apple. maybe it is still there somewhere in the forest....

Wire Sculpture by Fathir

I spent quite a lot of time on this as i have zero knowledge and skills on how to make such wire sculptures. So i had to maximise my creativity to create something simple, yet innovative and stylish.

The picture illustrates the rest.

Cardboard Sculpture by Fathir

Made this from the shapes of my Starbucks Mug.
The end result looks something of an animal abstract.

Susan's

Our task was to make some sketches about 3 installation. I worked with Elinor. We had to combine somehow the word "memory" with materials like "Old monitors". We focused on the '70s, the style and design of it. We could work together easily, but the task was difficult for us. I did not really enjoy this task, but I am satisfied with our work.

[Blogger doesn't work well now, I will attache the picture later.]

Working in a forest

During this class we went to a forest or park near school, where we had to make some kind of a sculptore of natural things. It didn't have to last long. I worked with Franziska and we made a rather abstract figure. The first idea was to take an apple and stick some branches in it like it was a sun, then the idea developed and we created this.

Wire figures

We had the chance of working with different kind of wires. I choosed a very thin one and sometimes it was hard to work with it. I made three human figures standing in a circle and bending on each other. The idea came suddenly and I was happy to make it.I quite like it, it shows all kind of emotions, still it is really simple.

Working with plaster

This time we were working with plaster, we had to make some kind of a human figure, a part of a human body, etc. I made a neck and a torso, which's lower part is somehow "melting away". Then I painted it with silver paint, it looks nice now. Working with plaster wasn't a new experience for me cause I have done it before, tough it was a long time ago when I was a kid. The carving was the hardest part obviously, but it was fun.

a walk in rain

such a rainy day...so cold...so fresh...and quiet...
a small bouquet of yellow flowers and accidently found shell with tiny colorful flowers.

a cardboard sculpture

initially this was a hairpin, but i changed the sizes, so now it's not so much recognizable. but still i like it.
cardboard by Évi
I did not forget to bring an object. It is an object I use every day. For my batteries to be full... .

I drew all sides, cut them out - I was lucky not to have the very thick cardboard, so it was easier to cut out. Then I put the pieces together. I couldn't really paint on the cardboars, because it was glossy and the peint wouldn't stay on the surface. Paula had the idea to glue paper on it. So I took the whole thing apart, glued paper on all sides, which were "ugly" and put it back together. I think the task is accomplished.

On the strike day I missed the landscape art day... . It's raining today, again.
by Évi:
I think I didn't write for one or two weeks... I couldn't download my photographs from my telephone, but now here they are. My last entry was about the abstract sculpture.
So this one is about the wire sculpture. Well, where to start. Again, I believe we didn't have the best tools... too big. But ok. The first day I thought that we should just try what the wires feel like... I didn't have a certain project in mind. The next week it turned out that we won't have that much time... that's how I felt:

The actual work I did at home, with wire that I liked to work with and tools which didn't hurt my hands. I'm not sure how I thought of the little picnic basket with everything in it, but I wanted to create something small with a lot of wire. It took a couple hours, but I like it.

cardboard

As a base for my cardboard sculpture I chose a mug, because it has simple forms that could be turned in something more complicated and still preserve balance.
I changed a bit the task and cut one side of a mug with a curvy line,
moreover I added pattern on the whole surface of the sculpture,
so now it gained decorative purpose))

wire)

the sculpture represents a woman's hand
with a lot of decorative accessories and curved lines;
the hand is designed in a way so it could move a little bit,
that associated with waving.

Our third object was to creat something from wire.
In Paula's powerpoint presentation we saw some good idea..but these were usually 2D-s sculptures unfortunately and she needed 3D-s ones.
So i hade an idea which was an unusual aquarium with two fishes and a small snail. End of the class i borrowed some wire and tool to bring at home to creat something just for my fun!:) Than i had another new idea which was a bird in a cage. It's really simple and small and i love it!And as I told to the class too : Now i am not alone anymore because i have a "bird" in my flat!:)

Sculptore of Franzi

That day we were making clay sculptores, working in pairs. I made s sculptore of Franzi's head. I think I got the proportions right, tough the face was not the best. I quite enjoyed it actually, it was fun looking at each other, observing all the time.

thumb-up

Wire-sculpting was great! I started off with a dress design, but I saw Kata working on one and the size-limitation made me change. Then, a picture of a wire hand-jewel came to me, and I was working and kept working on the design, but gradually stayed to sculpt the hand only. Here it is, I'm appeased so enjoy! and THUMB-UP!

"holly" chair

Yes, I can finally upload this fantastic cubist work of a chair fro our classroom. As You know, agony would not even express what i felt the first 2 hours of designing this :D

Not just that I can't really think in 3D, had no inspiration and when I have started to slice off the cardboard pieces, it turned out that I was doing something wrong, then start all over again.

Forest art from Susan

Last week we travelled to Hűvösvölgy and tried to create something artistic from natural products. It was not so exciting, the weather was so cold, and it was raining when we began to work. I worked with Adél, and we did not find so much interesting things in the forest, what we could use for our work. However, we tried to do something interesting and made some circles from leaves and little branches, and decorated it with flowers. Ok, I know it is not so interesting, but if a stranger would see it, maybe it would interesting for him.

Susan's work

We had to create an object from carton, but with different view than originally. My object was a paperclip, I tried to do something interesting from my cartons. It was hard for me at first, to cut the pieces. After we finished our work, we also had to paint it.

I did not really like this task.

forest.art

Let me tell you, if hard work makes drops run down on your forehead, that is especially annoying since they are not sweat but raindrops......

I've started to play with the ivy, because I really like the pattern and the dark color or the leaves. Attaching them together proved to be harder then I could manage, so I changed my original ivy-ball plan into ivy-circle on a homeless' box.

Turning the leaves up-side down and leave the stems, the sun casting a shadow, made an enjoyable view.
For my, it look pretty much like water lily leaves.

I have a great time, I see much more possibilities in nature-sculpting, but I will never have enough stamina to stay outside for that long, look for different shades of flowers and arrange them together somehow then leave the scene and never see my work again.

Cutting the space - Rolling Pin.

Our task was breaking an object into shapes, coloring the shapes and putting them back together, not in the original form.
I have to admit that the task seem weird for me since I never really got the idea, or better to say never enjoyed such sculptures. Having no great vision about the outcome of it, I started following the instructions, choosing a home rolling pin as the object to begin with.
I broke it into 12 parts, and colored them all in the same color.
The last step, of putting it all together was the hardest, trying to find a construction that would please me.
At last I found what I was looking for, and it seem a bit like a model of Constructivism architecture. A monument made up of triangles and circles.
I still don’t fell close to this kind of sculpturing, but it sure was nice to try a new technique.
